There are times . . .

There are times when we believe we are choosing the pet. What we do not know is that a Greater Power is bringing the animal into our life. There are times, many times when we are delusional.

There are times when we name the pet. What we do not know is that a Greater Power has already given the animal a name, perhaps when it was in its mother’s womb. There are times, many times when we are delusional.

Today is the Feast of St. Jude Thaddeus. Jude means ‘giver of joy.” Thaddeus means “generous” or “kind”.

Today, I learned Winston’s true name, given to him by God – a name fitting his character throughout his past eleven years – a generous and kind giver of joy.

Today, my Winston is asleep – at peace, suffering no more.
