An obvious difference . . .

There’s an obvious difference between Russian and Greek Orthodox Christians to this parish priest.

The Russians take the Holy Mystery of Repentance seriously.

I once asked a Greek woman why she never went to confession? Her reply was curt, “It’s not our custom.” She was not the exception, rather she is the “Greek cultural model” within my limited paradigm.

Given the ecclesial crisis of the time, is the preceding relevant? Absent fear of God . . . where is loyalty to the Holy Trinity? What is Truth? Quid est veritas?

The preceding gives greater meaning to John 18:38.

Thankfully, there are many Greeks who are humble before God.
